Auriol, a praise to olive trees

Olive tree is emblematic of the Mediterranean region. Almost indestructible and secular, it produces olives of different qualities depending on the variety planted. In Provence, we eat green table olives (broken olives) or black olives (picked at maturity and candied in salt). We also use olives with more or less advanced degrees of ripeness to extract the famous olive oil, a guarantee of longevity.

No wonder this tree with a thousand virtues is revered through the Provençal creations. It is found here in the form of garlands of branches carrying multiple fruits, arranged at the edge. A few small branches are sparingly spread on a light background, highlighted by Jacquard weaving. The background is dotted with olive leaves barely apparent. The center is further emphasized by a border of sustained color, and a border of stylized leaves and scrolls. This table mat is a lovely evocation of autumnal “olivades”!

Auriol coordinates

Alongside this table mat, this pretty Auriol pattern is present on various tableware and decorative items: rectangular plaid or tablecloth, table runner, placemats, cushion covers. These products are all available in two very elegant colors: green on ecru (with a bordeaux border) and linen on ecru, more nuanced.
Your choice of colors depends on context: the green highlighted with red recalls the colors of autumn and Christmas. Meanwhile, flax color is neutral and will fit your home throughout the year. Be acknowledged that the cushion covers have two different faces: one with a central motif, and another without. You may want to combine them freely: let your imagination express itself.

Some tips : to wash your laundry, we recommend Marseille soap, a natural and really effective product that the washerwomen (lavandieres) of Provence used formerly. In addition to being environmentally friendly and harmless to the skin and the environment, it cleans and removes stains perfectly without damaging fabric. You can also use white vinegar as a softener: it's natural too. Do not hesitate and follow the example of Provencal housewives, back to fundamentals: it's good for you, for your home, and for the planet!

For TEFLON treated or coated fabrics: we recommend to iron on the reverse side of the fabric to reactivate the properties of anti-stain treatment.
