Centuries ago, the fabrics arrived from the Indies by boat to the port of Marseilles, which helped the Provencal merchants to prosper for a long time. Then they acquired the printing or weaving techniques and continued to produce the old motifs. These have become traditional in the region. Since 1948, Marat d'Avignon perpetuates these typical designs borrowed from the indiennes, name of the fabrics formerly imported.
The Cashmir collection belongs to these, and comes in two colors: purple red or black. Jacquard weave sublimates a central texture in a mix of cotton and polyester chosen for decoration. The wide border that decorates a part of the table top and all the drop is composed of large cashmere patterns in shades of beige, gray and dark red or black. The finish is ensured by an alternation of ecru lines, garlands or graphic friezes. The Jacquard fabric highlights each tone and adds cachet to this high quality paisley cloth.
